Our Services

Because bats can be active when we are normally asleep, Bat Specialist of Michigan provides a range of services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We specialize in bat removal and are experts on big brown and little brown bats. Once an animal has entered your house, they will often leave extensive damage. We can prevent this damage from happening again by doing live exclusions. We also do many small repairs, such as screening gable vents, blocking off eves, installing chimney caps, etc. Once the damage is created, animals will often leave a large mess. We can also provide attic clean-ups. Large brown bats do the greatest damage to attics. They leave large amounts of guano in your attic that can become a great health risk.

Clean-Up Services

Bats can cause a huge mess and they can fill an attic with bat feces called guano. Guano has a lot of bacteria and can be very harmful to humans. The bacteria grows tiny little spores that cling to dust and particles in your attic. As the ventilation moves through your house, these spores move with it. It is very important to have this cleaned out of your attic. Homeowners' insurance will often cover this clean-up because the damage is done by a mammal.

We remove this harmful waste from your attic and take it away in dumpsters. Once the attic is cleaned, a micro-foaming deodorizer, as well as an antibacterial agent are sprayed. If necessary your attic will be sealed in with Killz to help hold in the deodorizers. All insulation is replaced with brand new up to code insulation. 

Live Bat Exclusions

For bats we use a one-way door system. Bats can get out, but not back in. Once these animals are out, we want to make sure they can't get back in. We seal all areas with a galvanized hardware cloth and a 35-year silicone caulk.

• A raccoon comes through your ceiling tiles and you can't get it out.
• A bat is flying around your house and you can't get it to fly out.
• There is a coyote outside your house bothering one of your animals. 
• These are just a few examples. There are many, so don't be afraid to call. 

Prevention

Our prevention services are done just like our exclusions. Although we are not excluding anything, the repairs are done the same way.

Repair Services

Repairs are essential when dealing with wildlife. Most animals are very territorial and will often come back to a home if the repairs are not done right. We offer all types of repairs.

• Chimney Caps- Chimney caps ensure there will be no more raccoons living in your fireplace
• Eve Repairs- Often times squirrels or bats will enter your house through an eve area. Eves are areas where one roofline meets another roofline, creating a construction gap. Squirrels will get up under the gap and chew their way in. A bat will fold its body up and slide right in.
• Gable Vents- Gable vents are vents that sit on the side of your house and provide ventilation. We often need to screen the top of these vents with galvanized hardware cloth. Bats and squirrels are the most common animals entering these areas.
• Ridge Vents- Ridge vents are vents that sit on top of the peak of your house allowing ventilation.
