Animal trapping requires some skill, patience and experience. There are some things you must know when trying to trap nuisance animals from your home. Its not as simple as buying a live trap and filling it full of bait, then waiting for the animal to enter the trap.  We take pride in catching all of your nuisance animals in a timely fashion but sometimes it does take patients.  We always go for the target animal and never charge for un-targeted animals.  Trapping requires some knowledge to catch the wanted critters from their disturbance areas. Here are some things to know about trapping...
Birds trapped in a live trap
  • Know exactly what you are trying to trap
  • Know the area where the animal is living
  • Weather can play a factor in trapping
  • Know the food source of the animal
  • Look for alternative food sources
We don't assume what we are trying to trap.
We investigate every situation, looking for clawing , chewing, and size of opening.  Its real important to know where the animal is entering, exiting and living.  For instance if we have raccoons in the attic we don't want to set the traps on the ground because we can catch every raccoon in the neighborhood.  Find the opening and place the trap on the roof.  If our trap gets wet, we make sure we constantly rebait with fresh food or lure.
Raccoon Trapping in Genesee County and Livingston CountyAll species can be attracted to the same baits so we make sure we pick the most appropriate food or lure to bait the animal into the trap. If there are alternative food sources around where the target animal is living, we make sure we use the best baits to steer them from their other food.  Gland lures and fresh sweet baits always work the best.  Patience is key with trapping. We hope to get our target animal within 24 hours but that isn't always the case.  Depending on the eating pattern of the critter they may not always be hungry every night therefore they won' t go right into the trap.
